myCSUSMFunding Opportunities
OGSR Grants and Contracts Development offers faculty and staff a wide range of information on funding sources for research, scholarly, and creative pursuits that support CSUSM's mission. Below are resources available to CSUSM faculty, staff, and students to identify potential funding support.
- Atom Grants (Search Engine)
CSUSM now has an institutional membership to Atom Grants, providing faculty, staff, and students access to an innovative, AI-powered platform to create customized grant opportunity searches that match current or future researcher interests. Researchers can find relevant funding opportunities by using natural language descriptions of their research—including the ability to input abstracts from existing papers directly into the search system. The platform automatically generates researcher profiles by analyzing existing public outputs and can deliver personalized email alerts on a preferred scheduling basis with matching funding opportunities. Additionally, AI features assist throughout the application process by extracting key requirements, generating submission checklists, and automatically assessing eligibility criteria, ensuring researchers can focus more on their work and less on administrative tasks.
Anyone with a University email account can sign in to Atom Grants via our institutional membership. Sign into Atom Grants using your university email address. You should be directed to a Single Sign-On (SSO) to sign in with your CSUSM credentials.

- Philanthropic Support from Corporations and Private-Grant Making Foundations
CSUSM Corporate and Foundation Relations (CFR) is a campus-wide resource for those within the CSUSM community who seek external philanthropic support from corporations and private grant-making foundations. Specifically, the request for support must be in line with institutional priorities identified by the president, provost, and deans.
Corporate Foundation Relations | Giving to CSUSM | CSUSM
Please note that CFR only assists with philanthropic requests; government grants and contracts are handled by the Office of Graduate Studies and Research (OGSR). However, your corporate or foundation-funded research, project, or program may require the administration of OGSR. We will help determine if this collaboration is required for your request.
