Quality Learning & Teaching (QLT)

The Quality Learning and Teaching (QLT) program was developed to support faculty to effectively design and deliver online, blended, and flipped courses. The peer-reviewers are fellow CSUSM faculty who have participated in training to apply the QLT rubric to your course, along with a CSUSM instructional designer.

Register now to participate in a peer review of your online course. As a participant of the QLT program, you will receive customized feedback based on a rigorous review of your course using the QLT Rubric, along with support from an instructional design to make changes to your course. You will receive $500 in professional development funding for completing the review process.

Faculty should apply to review courses that have been taught previously. Priority will be given to faculty who have not had a course reviewed in the past, but we invite all faculty to apply.

Review Process

  1. Faculty will complete a self-review of the course using the QLT rubric (approx. 2 hours)
  2. Peer-reviewers review the course using the QLT rubric
  3. Meeting with faculty member, peer-reviewer and instructional designer to discuss your review (1 hour)
  4. Meet with your assigned instructional designer to learn how to make the recommended improvements to meet the Core 24 criteria
  5. Changes to course are due by the end of the academic year.

Faculty will receive $500 in professional development funds for completing the process above.
